CommuniCity project disseminated the results and learnings of the 100 pilots out of the three rounds of Open Calls. The goal was to inspire communities and citizens through examples of good practices and technical solutions. The project collected data from the pilots mainly in the form of final report. Occasionally, pilot teams were also requested to give additional content.
The Virtual Learning Lab (VLL), also known as CommuniLab, was launched and continuously updated with resources that served as a comprehensive knowledge base. CommuniLab supported capacity building activities both in-person and online, helping pilot teams and other stakeholders as they navigated piloting and co-creating with marginalised groups. Within this initiative, the Engagement Space was established, with the objective of fostering interaction, and knowledge exchange. The PartnerMatch service facilitates collaboration among the stakeholders beyond the CommuniCity project. It provides a general platform where stakeholders seek advice, share experiences and engage with others, including stakeholders involved in the pilots.
Dissemination often means articles and communication actions. It is recommended to identify communication contacts of pilot manager, pilot host and pilot team organisations to ensure smooth co-operation between them. Usually, all parties want to approve communications content before publishing. Especially press releases or other greater communications efforts often require further approval and close co-operation. It’s important to exercise caution when working with marginalised groups. As a guiding rule, they should remain anonymous in the pilot communications. However if it is jointly agreed to publish recognisable content, a written consent must be obtained. Guidance relevant for pilot hosts and pilot managers can be found from The CommuniCity Communications Guidelines for Piloting Teams.
In most cases partners can share the progress and the results of the pilots on social media independently. However, utilising the project’s hashtags and mentions can notify the project’s media coordinator, and share the content further though CommuniCity’s official social media channels.
